In several places around my home, I have numerous old family photos I could draw from.  In fact, just my own collection would keep me going for quite some time!
But, the grass is greener...
I found a seller on Etsy, Dawn And Ross, that sells the best vintage photos.  Plus, they sell the original!
I couldn't help but buy a few.

Ethel is my latest left-handed drawing. This is too much fun!

Left-handed Drawing

This is my latest left-handed (non-dominant) drawing.  The difference is it was ALL drawn with my left hand.  My right hand only got to erase a few lines here and there.

Funny thing, when I draw with my left hand, my annoying inner critic is silent.  LOVE that!

Dorthea Lange is the American photographer famous for capturing the Great Depression.  Most people would recognize the unforgettable photo, Migrant Mother.
Recently, I purchased a used book of her photos.  For some reason, I was taken by the photo, and chose to copy it in this rendering.
As an artist, I don't think I am suppose to do that.  (shhhh)
That is why I will be keeping this one.

The Yearling

I am about half way through The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings.
Oh, how I love it.  I haven't had a book make me cry like this since Where The Red Fern Grows. And I know there are more tears to come.

My favorite line so far:
He closed his eyes, satisfied. Everything was all right when he understood it.

Another Old One

I know the woman that owns this piece.  She makes the best Oreo-Rum balls.

My family once owned a Blue Mountain.  But that is no more.

An Old One

I believe I did this back in the early 2000s.

Colored Pencil

This past weekend I broke out the ol' colored pencils.  It has been a LONG time.
Coloring. Shading.  Oh, how I have missed you both!

I constructed this with an empty Cheez-it box, a used dryer sheet and art supplies.
